DESCRIPTION:
Geopolicity was contracted by the French Government and African Development Bank to undertake an economic growth and employment diagnostic of Egypt. with strong linkages to solving the unemployment problem. The study aimed to:

Identify the activities which could be the engine of long run growth and decent jobs creation in the forthcoming years in Egypt. The analysis should go as in detailed as data availability and consistency allow it. International comparisons may be relevant in some parts of the study to highlight the strengths and weaknesses of the Egyptian economic specialisation.

Provide the policy makers with recommendations in terms of growth strategy and skills promotion.

Feed and reinforce the dialogue between AFD/AfDB and the Egyptian government in terms of development strategy, job creation, and vocational training.
